I always told myself I wouldn’t date anyone during my first year of college—but there was one exception: a beautiful, brown-haired girl from Pella. When I found out she would be roommates with a mutual friend, I knew I just might have a chance. To my surprise, she was the one who took a chance on me, asking me to hang out for the first time. That night went better than I could have imagined, and soon it turned into more hangouts, dates, and long walks together. Now, here we are—engaged, getting married, and so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!

On the first day of class, I noticed this tan, blonde haired boy that kept smiling at me. Later that afternoon, I asked my roommate about him, and to my surprise she encouraged me to give him a chance. Soon after, my time was filled with smiles, laughter and long walks around this small college town I learned to call home. This past July, I said yes to forever with an amazing God-fearing man who also happens to be my best friend and I am so excited for the future!
